Artwork Description:

Swadhisthana chakra or sacral chakra is the second chakra and is located between the naval and the base of the spinal cord. It is orange in color, indicating energy and stimulation. The moon is the planet of this chakra, and Its element is water. This chakra controls the sexual organs, is governed by the subconscious mind, and is ruled by emotions such as sensuality, sexual, intimacy, self-acceptance, and personal relationships. Swadhistana chakra is associated with the act of reproduction and procreation. A crocodile is the animal of the chakra. It represents the nature of this chakra- a crocodile floats, swim deep under the water, and is strong in sexual energy. It is said that crocodile s fat can increase men s virility. There is a mythological story associated with the chakra- the powerful sage ‘Vishwamitra ‘ was feared by the gods. So ‘Indra’, the king of the gods, devised a plan to subjugate his powers and break his meditation. He sent the beautiful celestial being ‘Menaka ‘ to distract him. She was successfully able to do so. Also ‘Kama’, the Hindu god of passion, and ‘Rati’ his consort, are associated with this chakra. They ride a parrot and shoot arrows to instill feelings of lust in people. In my art , I have shown procreation as a goddess who is half man and half woman Ardhanareshwari. This goddess represents the union of male and female energies and is carrying the combined energies in her his womb.
