Artwork Description:
Painting onsite and from photographs I explore the unmaintained landscape that imposes on the manmade objects.
I work with oil paint to create more fluid brushwork that steadily unites the forms on the surface. Solid buildings, telephone poles, fences, and bridges are all imposed upon through exaggerating their shapes and marks that define them.
By choosing weathered structures and breaking down their forms, I am showing how the land, over time, works to break down these unplanted structures.
