Mi abuela me habló en varias ocasiones con orgullo y cariño de su hermana, quien fue estudiante de medicina en París cuando muy pocas mujeres acudían a la universidad. En 1939, viajó a visitar a su familia en Polonia. Mientras vacacionaba en Lublin, el ejército alemán invadió Polonia y mi abuela, que ya estaba en México, nunca volvió a saber de ella. Este cuadro es un homenaje al recuerdo de la joven estudiante de medicina, y hace referencia al texto “Punto de origen” de Aharon Zeitlin. En el poema se describe como aún en medio de la brutalidad de una cirugía en la que aún no había anestesia, el escritor se puede situar en un punto de trascendencia y paz, el cual compara con la primera emanación del Dios infinito e inconcebible, aquella que los místicos judíos llamaban Keter, “la Corona” por estar en el límite entre lo incognoscible y nuestro universo donde hay límites de tiempo y espacio. Aquí presento una rústica traducción que intenté hacer del Yiddish Mi cuerpo bajo el bisturí del cirujano yace abierto como un pescado, dentro de mí todo corrió como huyen los ratones en un barco que se hunde Solamente, en algún lugar, sigue aislado un punto silencioso, y permanece uno consigo mismo, una muda totalidad separado del caos. Desde entonces lo sé existe algo así dentro de la gente que está dentro y más allá, así, que no tiene miedo del cuchillo que descansa en sí mismo, como Keter,y permanece. Cuando acompañaba a mi hija a ver la exposición en el Centro Cultural de las Artes en Cancún, encontré, para mi alegría, a los participantes del taller de poesía del maestro Daniel Cabrera Padilla escribiendo acerca de los cuadros que se encontraban en la sala. Norma Espinosa Zurita me envío amablemente el poema que escribió acerca del cuadro, al cuál tituló La Mirada Esa mujer que en su mirada Parece taciturna, en sus peinados y vestimentas te deja ver su gallardía. De rostro hermoso se postra frente a la ventana, esperando la llegada de quien le quitó la esperanza. Norma Espinosa Zurita 15- Feb- 2020. Al leer el poema me llamó la atención que es así exactamente como imaginaba a la joven hermana de mi abuela, como una mujer gallarda a quien le robaron la esperanza.
