Barry Greff - ARTIST STATEMENTS Atmosphere Ethereal Sea and Landscapes In a time of great challenge throughout our world, I seek to capture, and foster preservation of, the spectacular natural beauty that still exists on Earth. Each of my photographs stands alone as a testament to the astonishing visual feast that remains on our planet for those willing to seek it out. My sea and landscape images focus on capturing transitory conditions of light and atmosphere as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of life itself. These images memorialize a moment in timeaEUR| never to be repeated. I am drawn to these theatrical moments when elements collide to form moody, ethereal, and dramatic scenes. Of the Wild Intimate, Close-up Animal Portraits It is in various forms of captivity that I find the animals and birds for this series. They are protected from me and I am protected from them. My images capture the life force that is simultaneously controlled, yet untamed. I am drawn to their eyes as that draws the viewer into the frame. Dick Drechsler - I have had a lifelong interest in photography. As a child, my best friends father owned a chain of photo processing plants, providing me the opportunity to learn much about the art. At the ripe old age of 14, I set up a darkroom in my bathroom. I even played around with my own primitive version of Photoshop by using an Exacto knife to cut negatives and merge images. Having spent most of my career in the resort development industry, I retired from that career in 2007 and have been posting quality images, doing commercial photography and photojournalism ever since. I am an active press member of the Los Angeles Press Club and accredited by the United States Press Agencys editorial board as a photojournalist and sports writer and am a member of the United States Press Association. Laurie Delaney - I got into photography about 3 years ago. Photography is more than just a hobby, it's a passion. I use basic equipment and don't use any photo editing software. I like my photos to be natural and to capture exactly what I've seen in the moment I took the picture.
