Tahir Un - If art is a language to express myself, then inspiration ought to be the very life in which I am. And societal issues troubling me every so often, and sometimes my own dilemmas Lies in the foundation of all a moral and humanitarian urge to question, shaped by one's own ideologies. Indubitably to me, starting off with strong concepts devoid of mass-market meretriciousness, putting them in a story line and choosing the right material to ensure a firm expression make up the indispensable principles. I maintain that an artist, and naturally his work, can not be deprived of a reflection of his ideology. In a sense, your ideology is a prime source of your stance in life. Of course, fine art can result even without these concerns, but to me, art requires a process where life is taken more seriously. In my opinion unbiased art, or artist, can not really exist....

I wait for my image to appear in my darkroom,the world stops for that time. I truely live in the moment. Finally I see my images appear before my eyes like magic. I work in Photography Silver Gelatin Black and White primarily and Color Photography. My Painting degree is from Syracuse University. My Silver Gelatin Black and White Photography work is hand printed in the darkroom. I also work in Color Photography, and now also Digital. All my materials are archival. Mark Raynes Roberts - "Crystal to me has always evoked nature's beauty creating its own alchemy within and reflecting the changing world all around us. It's a material humankind created over 330 years ago,and the closest we have come I believe as a species to adding untold beauty to the world we live in. It is also the material responsible for many of the technological advances we enjoy in today's world. From cell phones to the most sophisticated computers and telescopes, prismatic light and the crystal lens have been the cornerstones to allowing us to see ourselves more clearly and the universe beyond. Much of my introspective work over the past 25 years has dealt with the human experience and discovery of our shared humanity. So with the GLASSLANDS COLLECTION, it is my hope to build an educational tool to bridge the gap between our understanding of our fragile environment and the need for greater sustainability. This collection will be made from both the purest optical crystal known to humankind,and from reclaimed glass disposed of by humankind. It will define both the beauty we are capable of creating, and the actions of harm we are capable of if we...
