  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Nancy Bechtol - Artists explore and give the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. I visualize and think with keen beliefs and insights. Reflection of human and societal concerns which cross emotional boundaries-- communicating that which is unspoken. My traditional art foundations of drawing, painting and printmaking, evolved into video, digital photography and experimental media. I use digital photography and imaging to envision the concepts originating from the creative pulse. An individual artist explores and gives the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. Rebeca Calvogomez - I needed therapy. All this frustration, anger, sadness and introversion issues I've never been good at expressing my feelings with words, or asking for what I need, or saying no before I explode. And so come painting. No words, just images. Me, alone with my images. A perfect match. Even better, it could all be done with oil painting, so I needed turpentine, with that smell that I love so much maybe it makes me high, who knows. Getting your hands and clothes dirty, listening to the light sound of the brush on a canvas or a piece of wood and submerging myself in the colors and shapes that come to existence in front of me. That's how I find my pleasure. It started with painting images of small details, a tree, a rock, a street daily images that stayed with me because they captured my imagination, made me calm, or frightened me, or brought me back to some cherished memory of a sweet smell, or the wind on my naked body Windows into a world that was out there but come to live inside me. Then come "On Humanity", those abandoned dogs, and cook fights, bull fights, ...

Michael Prochnik - When I first started photographing, I was driven by the desire to communicate to my family and friends my travels, but as my photography progressed I realized it was mainly the people that I saw around me that became the main focus of my pictures. When I chose my best photos, I realized that my favorites choices were not based on their technical merits but rather on the feeling I got from the subjects in those images. Even when I became a professional photographer, I was still drown back to the first images I have ever taken, and to the feeling I get from those images, which in essence is my aim when photographing, and my wish for others to share. Thanks for visiting my page, and I hope you enjoy the images. Michael ...

Vibhusha Jain - Painting is something I must do as it gives me pleasure and accomplishment in creating something. The uncertainty of the outcome is so exciting . A plain bare canvas becomes beautiful after a few layers of colors and these colors unknowingly gives joy to your heart when watched daily. With my paints, I am never lonely. I feel the purpose of creating art is to share something beautiful and allow others to see something from an artist's perpective. I have an inner need to express without words. I love to paint landscapes, trees, music instruments, birds, flowers and abstract art. I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, but employment in a totally unrelated field caused me to give up doing any form of artwork for many years. In recent times I re-kindled my interest in art, and, inspired by friends and family, I decided to publish some of my works online. Photography is me yet another passion. We see some simple things around us daily, but to capture it and believe in its beauty is an art in itself. I need you immense support in my journey; to be a successful painter and ...

Kerwin Williamson - In a way urban photography is like exploration; visual, mental and emotional. And when it comes to a city, its more then just the streets, monuments, iconic locations & structures. Its the little things, moments "seen" by few, major & minor changes, the weather briefly altering the city's mood and the way you feel. As New York's architecture (my current photographic interest) continues to change (reshaping various area's bit by bit) its gives the photographer / visual artist another aspect of the city to explore; not just the structures but its parts, aspects and relation to its environment. Geometric simplicity, the pattern of lines that alter the skyline, at times create shapes in conjunction with the other buildings. Heavy usage of glass (& or similar material) that creates a gleaming / semi-reflective quality that is changing the urban landscape, producing a powerful visual. When you explore its the journey and the subject that leads you towards greater understanding and a broader perception....

Manolis Tsantakis - The subject "Woman and Nature" which is the title of my photographs, It becomes an endless source of inspiration. Nature is perfect but also so fickle. The lighting and weather interchanges during a day could be unbelievable. Nature some times has a melancholic mood, but it could also elevate your senses. It offers tranquility and happiness, but also fear and insecurity. Woman, as a female gender by nature, matches perfectly with Nature, and it create within me, exactly the same feelings. It is a constant challenge for me, to tie together in perfect harmony these two live elements and create images of dreams and fantasy. ...
