Artwork Description:
Portrait, Fine Art, Expressionism, Surrealism
This digitally created surrealist work began with the idea of creating a visual metaphor of the word vierge virgin. The concept was really inspired by the genius lyrics of the song, Les Bigotes by Jacque Brel. The work is intended to portray the idea of a somewhat misguided but earnest and religious young woman who identifies virginity with saintliness. Nevertheless in spite of her best efforts, certain human desires can still be detected in her pious pose. When I am creating whether painting or photo editing, it is always human emotions that is the most important to capture and present to the viewer. The actual print size is 24 x 36 printed on Professional kodak Endura Paper with a glossy metallic surface, that gives the work a luminous depth. After matting and framing the total size is increased to 33 x 44. The work is framed in a simple elegant black wood frame with a sheet of polished non-reflective premium acrylic. Since acrylic is non-shattering and 70 lighter than glass, shipping is both safe and cost effective. All necessary hanging hardware is attached to the work so it arrives ready to be immediately hung on the wall.
