Since weeks now.. I see them sit on same wires on my morning hike with my friends Goldie, Pauline and Jack.. My longtime friends take off up the hills.. while Goldie, their beautiful dog (see my portfolio), mozie wayy behind them.. look at all kind of things.. clouds.. mountain tops around Fontana.. snakes on ground.. since 2 weeks not seen any.. too cold for them.. or squirrels.. hawks soaring or sitting on the poles.. crows.. root formations.. rocks with their images and beautiful colors.. plants.. traces in the desert sands.. well.. the doves or pigeons usually sit.. when we walk by.. or feed on ground, covering huge areas.. then they fly up.. and all I see is white, when the light hits them from underneath.. they fly in large circles around us and I am just entranced watching them.. thought, I will get some pix.. in flight.. is not that easy.. video yes.. but with camera.. just needed to get them right.. tried.. tried.. by time I pressed shutter down.. hardly any were still where they were before.. so fast.. or nothing in view.. yesterday, Pauline had an idea.. the birds were all sitting and coo cooing.. when she said.. watch!! clapped her hand once and up they went.. YESS.. but I was not fast enough.. today.. I got camera ready.. walked into the grassy side of hill top.. eyeing them.. and then started to go slowly towards where they sat on their wires .. high up raised the camera.. and clicked just barely the lens cover against camera.. and there they raised their beautiful wings.. and flew... did that about three times.. grinn.. to get them in right.. thought you might enjoy too.. these are not with rings, I noticed.. and are not there all year long either.. so. Felt really great, to hold their and my.. moments.. And Goldie in meantime had her scent collections.. and nuked (marked) a couple of worthwhile spots.. ;-)) Cool too is to see, how they fly.. how they have their wings.. head.. inspires for drawings and paintings.. Beautiful day.
