Artwork Description:

When I came back to the studio after spending the night ina cave in Hunter Mountain Sedona, AZ, the cats had scattered colored pencilsall over the work area. Reflecting on my experience in the cave, I started to see the array pencil in a new light. Rather than pickup the pencils, I began to study them--thinking of the history, the thousands of years it took to come to this beautiful, utilitarian form. Thus, began the Pencil Series. Series.
