Artist Statement

My name is Kathy S. Copsey, aka White Bear Mohawk White Eagle Cherokee, and I am an American artist, with Native American and European heritage. I specialize in Contemporary Native American Artwork with a focus on Acrylic Paintings with Texture Mixed Media on canvas featuring animals and Native Americans. I also enjoy working with several other mediums including pencil drawings, freehand digital drawings, writing, music composition, photography, and videography. My work is all done freehand, and many of my pieces come from dreams and visions I have received. My tribes include YosemiteSierra Miwok, Mohawk Turtle Clan, LumbeeCroatoan, Powhatan, Shawnee, Lenape, and Cherokee, but I focus on works featuring all Native American tribes, not just my own. One of my main goals is to become so successful that I can make a major impact in this beautiful world to help animals, nature, and Native Americans recover and thrive once again....
