My current paintings of simple landscapes reveal abstract and representational components in the composition. Using a variety of tools, droppers, pipettes, and brushes, I build layers of abstract spattered subtext. I find beauty in the forms of the landscape.
The land has always been integral in my exploration of line, color, and form. The land inspires art. My interest in fly-fishing, hiking, and camping inspire my images, taking me places wild fish live. I find the landscape a beautiful challenge.
With my current process evolving, discoveries present themselves with each new work, never a tired topic. A traditional subject depicted in a contemporary way.
