I love figure drawing, portraits and profiles. I also love photorealism and I am just getting into oil paints. In the past I've just done drawings/paintings for myself, often self-portraits, and pictures of my friends. Self-portraits were my concentration for my AP Art portfolio. I heard once that drawing yourself makes you a better artist, I guess it just stuck with me. I also haven't really gotten into the habit of taking photos especially for reference purposes. Therefore, I turn to myself as a subject. But now I'm trying to broaden my horizon as I try to find subject matter that is worth selling. I think I need to fall away from self-portraits a little bit to reach my goal of selling my artwork.
I am in the process of compiling my past and current exhibition opportunities.
