Artist Statement for Lisa Snellings Clark
Lisa Snellings Clark was the first student in her high school to receive the Thespian Award. She had painted sets, sculpted props, acted in plays, written short stories and composed piano works. She hasn't lost her fascination with the delivery and presentation of ideas. Strange Attraction, an anthology based on her work and containing stories and poetry by Ray Bradbury, Neil Gaiman, Harlan Ellison, Charles De Lint and a host of others, was released in hardcover in 2000. Her ideas are her strength, inspiring personal works in many media and inspiring others to write poems, stories and plays based on her images.
Snellings continues to explore new ways to interact with her viewers with kinetic and multi media works. After years of struggling to narrow her focus, she has relented, choosing to remain the Thespian.
