Colour And a love for it, that’s what drove me into the creative arts. Like most artistically minded people, I would walk the galleries of the globe soaking in the great works of the masters. However, I noted the mass of moody, dark, stupor works of the classical art schools and salon, and longed to wipe the layers of vandyke brown away, to peak at the colourful underbelly of the works. Finding the Impressionists, abstracts expressionists, and pop artists, was like a light bulb moment.

Trained as a Costume Designer, I was taught to focus on the aesthetic of character. How to convey thoughts, emotion, story, through a visual language. This comes through heavily in my love of portraiture, I am fascinated by the human mind, about individuals and capturing their personal narrative on canvas. For years I sat firmly in the realm of illustrator, it was only in the greater lockdown of 2020 that I picked up a paint brush and dared to fuse my illustration style with fine art. Ever evolving, my style is fluid pushing myself to try new things in the pursuit of colourful, and creative art.
