Kens early works were representational, employing the egg tempera techniques of Renaissance masters, creating form through multiple layers of glazes. After exploring the minimalist oeuvre, using acrylic on unprimed canvas as favored by Gene Davis, Ken Noland and Morris Louis, Ken developed his technique of acrylic glazing on primed canvas by applying and removing brush strokes.
