Artist Statement

Artists Statement I enjoy using a variety of mediums and alternating between abstract, figurative and photography. Each medium gives me the opportunity to experiment with light, color and line variations. My abstract paintings are intuitive, lyrical, expressive compositions - I call them my energy series. With gestural brush strokes Im able to create expressive abstract images that portrays natures energy, movement and light. Recently Ive tried to incorporate poetry into my work. Im inspired by natures endless arrangements of line, color and form - found in gardens, landscapes, astronomy and water scenery. The use of vibrant colors, fractal design, and the study of micro to macro has also influenced my work. Some observers claim to see different forms or images in these paintings that may not be intentionally created. ...
