• The Lantern, OSU Office of Disabilities Art Show by Zach Asman (May 26, 2010)

• Cleveland Free Times; Hit or Myth: Myth America at SPACES by Douglas Max Utter (July 4, 2006)
...the show has some strong moments. Leni Anderson's autobiographical and editorial cartoon panels make some pointed commentary on contemporary dilemmas from an African-American viewpoint, meditating on the 2004 presidential election and deconstructing phrases from the Pledge of Allegiance.

• BUCKINGHAM, DOOLITTLE & BURROUGHS, LLP CELEBRATE 15 YEARS IN COLUMBUS (2002)
Columbus, OH - The Columbus office of Buckingham, Doolittle, & Burroughs, LLP is celebrating 15 years of law practice in Ohio’s capital city. To mark the occasion, the firm is hosting a celebration on May 4 at the Columbus Museum of Art, when it will donate to the museum a group of works by Columbus artist Leni D. Anderson. This donation follows a tradition established by the Firm, which donated a work by Queen Bee to honor its 10th anniversary.
Buckingham, Doolittle, & Burroughs, LLP provides a full range of legal services to clients in all sectors. “During our 15 years here in Columbus, we’ve built up an outstanding team of attorneys,” says Managing Partner Don Leach. “One of our core practice areas is real estate and construction, but we’ve recently added attorneys in trusts and estates, workers’ compensation and business law.” The Columbus office is also home to the firm’s new affiliate, Buckingham Sports & Entertainment, LLC, a representation and management firm serving professional athletes and other high-profile personalities throughout the United States.
The Columbus office of Buckingham, Doolittle, & Burroughs, LLP is strongly committed to supporting the visual arts. The firm’s offices, located in the Arena District, include an art space where local artists are invited to display their work. “Donating a work by a local artist is a natural way for us to mark our 15th anniversary,” says Leach. “Leni Anderson’s work is so dynamic. We believe this will be a great addition to the museum’s collection.”
For more information concerning the Columbus office’s 15th anniversary, please contact Stacy Wood at 614-825-1806 or stacy.wood@fahlgren.com.

• Call and Post: Show Time (19 October 2000) THE WAY OF THE
BRUSH by Janel L..Perry
He doesn’t paint pictures of flowers or landscapes. He
paints about racism, religion, crime and politics. His
compositions make you think. And that’s exactly what Leni D.
Anderson set out to do.

• The Columbus Dispatch (October 2000) ANNUAL DISPLAY A
POTPORRRI OF APPEARANCE by Jacqueline Hall
Expressionism can be as bold as in Leni Anderson’s UNTITLED
mixed-media image, with its faint echoes of Paul Gauguin’s
VISION AFTER THE SERMON and other works done in Brittany, or
as delicate as in Rachel Stern’s watercolor LOST IN THOUGHT.

• The Columbus Dispatch: Art Section (1999) VARIETY IS SHOW
SPICE by Sharon Kokot
Leni Anderson’s quirky mixed-media pieces jolt the viewer
out of the introspection that Maxwell’s work inspires. His
grotesque Punch and Judy-like wooden figures articulate
political commentary with mordant wit. The satirical jibes
in Anderson’s work turn to dark laughter in Mary Krenta’s,
DEFEAT OF MOTHER EARTH. The grotesquely grinning painted
mutant version of a human race that has so damaged its
environment that it’s heading for extinction.

• Columbus Alive (5 –11 November 1998) THE PEN LIVES ON by Kim Liddy
….Anderson’s exhibit reminds us that the old Pen was more
than an architectural, historical building – it was, in some
sense, a living tomb to the unknown prisoner, a lpace of
human history and misery that will never be forgotten, even
though the monument has fallen.

• The Columbus Dispatch: Art Section (MAY 1997) IN A
STRUCTURED WORLD, ARCHITECTURE CAN SPEAK TO US
In CONCEPT OF ISOLATION by Kay Koeninger
<4, several mixed-media-on-paper
drawings, Leni Anderson turns to the interior of the old
Ohio Penitentiary. Diagonals lines and bars criss-cross the
plane of the picture, creating claustrophobic flat and
three-dimensional spaces. His work reminds one that the word
pen is not simply an abbreviation

• The Columbus Dispatch: Art Section (14 July 1996) RICHNESS
OF COLOR GOES BEYOND ETHNIC CATEGORIES by Kay Koeninger
"Let The Colors Flow" embraces a wide range of mediums and
subject matters. The theme for Leni Anderson, is to
demonstrate that artist of color produce art that cannot be
assigned to one category…Anderson’s work is a large
installation. It deals with issues raised by the American
criminal justice system and capital punishment, using the
old Ohio Penitentiary as a focal point…"

• The Columbus Dispatch: Theater Section (21 October 1993)
GORILLA THEATRE WON’T APE THE OTHERS by Michael Grossberg
…"Art expresses different ideas in a way that may not be as
threatening as a news story"…

• The Columbus Literary Gazette (July 1993) ‘AN INTERVIEW
WITH GORILLA THEATRE AND COMPANY" by Jenny Marcus Tigner
…Leni, however, tends more prose. His speech is gentle and
he makes an attempt to put himself in others shoes. He makes
socio-political statements without preaching…

• Columbus Alive ((8 July – 22 July 1993) "POETY WALKS ON
THE WILD SIDE" by Elissa Romig
…That the air of tolerance comes through in one of
Anderson’s works, a poem without a title: The eyes/that are
blind/is the mind/that is bound… M
