Artist Statement -

All of life’s experiences shape the person we become. The people we meet along with the situations and challenges we face are all relative to the way in which we perceive the world. My current paintings were created through the connections made with the depicted environments. Those connections revolve around family and personal relationships along with experiences of difficulties that form within such relationships. Such events have shaped the person I have become. They are reflected in the way that I view my surroundings and are characterized by paintings of isolated interior and exterior spaces. The environments are in various states of deterioration which acknowledge a continual presence of chaos while also attempting to grasp a sense of structure and stability.
