The color, pattern and weaving of fabric has always been a fascination of mine. Using wool as a medium in art is an extension of this interest that allows me to experience fiber in its simplest form. With fiber I'm able to create artwork that has a tactile quality appealing to my senses at many levels. In my portraits I engage the audience in the emotions of the subject, honoring the subject by portraying qualities that I experience while gazing at the original photograph. World cultures are of keen interest to me and the power that cultural experience exerts to shape society is an inspiration in my art.
