Artist Statement

Art is an expression of the mind. Its meaning for me is always subjective while never invoking the same sentiment from painting to painting, even though the theme may be the same.

My works can be termed 'select surrealism' in that there is calculated logical intention, instead of creating art without deliberate coherent comprehensibility, which is the premise of traditional surrealism. However, the most contemporary of my works are still beguiling from their influence of basic surrealism. Frequent use of the impressionist perspective has also helped me to create imaginary ethereal images.

Many of these works are stimulated by the Caribbean culture from which I come.

The ultimate goal is to innovate and raise the quality of my paintings and monuments such that they contribute positively to the unique world of fine art. ...
