Botanical subjects, landscapes and spiritual culture are the elements of my art. I focus on floral studies and place them in spiritual locations. My creative process engages meditation, research and drawing studies merging towards the final painting. I use watercolor, gouache or oil media on paper or gessoed panel. The paintings contain many layers of transparent, translucent and opaque colors to achieve the essence of nature. Traditional botanical art training combined with my previous work done in oriental brush painting, textile design and illustration blend in my current paintings. My current studio is in the foothills of the Catskill mountains. I have a woodland garden and view of the Hudson Valley providing a natural environment for visual study.
