My research is mainly focused on the study of the female figure, especially nudes, but not only. I prefer the oil on canvas technique, but I also work a lot on paper, with oil paints, with pencil, pastels and mixed techniques. The intent of my work is to bring out the personality of my women through the distorted use of shapes and colors, which must not be faithful to reality but who instead want to show only some aspects in order to make a stronger and immediate message. Above all, I focus a lot on the expressiveness of faces because I want to make the viewer feel the mood of the people I represent.

Biography
Selenia Bosso.
Born in Chieti, Italy in 1987, she lived in Venezuela for 5 years and then moved to Italy again in 2000. Now she lives in Milan.
In 2006 she graduated from Umberto Boccioni artistic high school in Milan, and since then she continues to devote herself to self-taught painting, experimenting with various techniques, especially oil, and becoming passionate about the representation of female figures.
Always inspired by the expressionist painters of the early twentieth century, but also influenced by new developments in contemporary art, her paintings can be considered as contemporary expressionism, and they want to represent female beauty in its truest and most natural essence. The strong colors and the accentuated and deformed shapes allow the personality of the figures to be brought out with impetuosity, so that they can speak about themselves through their bodies, and especially their faces.
