Carl and Sandra Bryant, a self-educated artist team, began glass mosaic work in 2001 after many years of oil painting and creating hand made tile. Mosaics are graffiti resistant, versatile and can be applied to so many dimensions. As a mosaic artist team, we collaborate on each design including material selection, fabrication and installation of all our projects.

Selected projects, publications and exhibitions

Arbor Heights Elementary School, Seattle, WA to be completed Summer 2019. This mural created in a Pacific Northwest Tree of Life design in the new Arbor Heights Elementary School in West Seattle. The glass mosaic is approximately 280 square feet and created for the Washington State Arts Commission state collection. Installed July 2019.

Christ the King Catholic Church, Tampa, FL late 2018. Three large murals created for the newly remodeled Catholic church in Tampa, Florida.

Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, TX 2018 6.5ft x 22.5ft Carousel glass mosaic mural created for the new Legacy building of the Texas Children’s Hospital. Located in the lounge area between the Women’s Pavilion and the newly constructed Children’s wing.

Palo Duro Canyon Mural, Amarillo, TX 2018 350 square feet of mosaic mural celebrating the flora and fauna of the Palo Duro Canyon landscape. The mural was designed and created for a private residence in Amarillo, TX

Tampa Bay History Center, Tampa, FL 2018 10.5ft x 23ft Heroes of the Tampa glass mosaic mural telling the story of the USCGC Tampa which was sunk during the last months of WWI.

Holocaust Memorial, New Jersey 2017, 12ft diameter glass and 24K gold mosaic mural for a community center in New Jersey. The design was created and copyright by Evelyn Rauch.

Homeland Bank, Monroe, LA 2016 7ft x 10ft Quiet Forest glass mosaic mural for the lobby of the new bank building in Monroe, LA depicting three deer in a forest.

Wapato High School, Wapato, Washington 2015-2016 Commission received from the Washington State Percent for Arts program to create 2 glass mosaic murals for the new high school in Wapato, WA. Our Roots Give us Wings, 7ft x 28ft and Community, 67” x 14ft.

City of Palm Desert 2015 Public art call winner, created a mural honoring city manager, Carlos Ortega for the Carlos Ortega Villas, Palm Desert.

Corporate Retreat murals 2015 Three curved wall murals for the lobby of a corporate retreat on total square footage 245 square feet.

Goldenvoice – AEG Live 2015 7ft x 28ft mural of the Coachella Valley honoring the site of the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Ca for the lobby of the organizer.

Residential mural work During 2014 and 2015 created onsite painted murals for residential venues in classic themes for private homes totaling approximately 1,100 square feet. Created large smalti mural, approximately 100 square feet for an outdoor wall, Seattle, WA.

Artprize 2014 International art exhibition for “Into the Autumn Woods” received 2nd Place in the 2-Dimensional public vote category. September 20, 2014 to October 13, 2015 at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, MI.

Hombre Nuevo 13ft x 8ft and 7ft x 8ft mosaic murals on the side of the sanctuary Guadalupe Radio Station in El Monte, CA Fall of 2013, and Fall of 2015

L’Occitane USA Various floor and wall murals for retail expansions in the United States 2013 and 2014

St Elizabeth Ann Seton School project Large mural created for the remodeled elementary school in Anchorage, AL Summer 2013.

2012 Artprize Top Ten award for the international art exhibition for “Return to Eden” September 19 – October 8, 2012, at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, Grand Rapids, MI.

Nelson Elementary School, Graham, Washington Commission received from the Washington State Percent for Arts program to create “Heritage” in 2011, a pair of murals approximately 250 square feet of glass mosaic.

St. Francis High School elevator mosaic mural Garden elevator mural for the St. Francis High School in Wheaton, IL completed in July 2011.

Providence Hospital Triptych Commission to create artwork for the new construction of Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington, installed summer 2011.

Raven Rocks Gallery Whidbey Island Exhibition of small mosaic works March 2012, November and December 2010, November 2011 and March 2012.

Constructioneer LLC Kilauea, HI 250 square foot wall mural and 100 square feet of mosaic floor – Adventureland forest glass mosaic mural for a private residential bathroom. Work for hire done according to drawn specifics determined by Constructioneer LLC Summer of 2010.

Missouri State Transportation Commission Public commission awarded after a national juried competition to produce 430 square feet of mosaic mural for the Missouri Tourism Welcome Center in Eagleville, MO completed September, 2009.

Art of Tesserae Juried mosaic art exhibition 2nd City Council, Long Beach, CA June-August 2009 for Gelato and Nightmusic

ASID Orange County Design House 2009 Created the 50 ft mosaic mural backsplash and bar surround in conjunction with Frank Pittman and The Last Layer, Irvine, CA.

Mosaic Arts International Museum of Man, San Diego, CA Feb 27, 2009 – April 26, 2009 International juried mosaic exhibition for the Manchurian Cranes. This work was used as the banner advertising for the show by the Museum of Man.

Mosaic Art Now one of 34 mosaic artists featured in this annual magazine, also included in 2008 edition.

Guadalupe Radio Set of four 56 square foot outdoor murals in the courtyard of the radio station and sanctuary El Monte, CA to be completed one per year 2008-2011.

City of Tacoma Portable Works we were awarded a purchase prize in the Fall of 2007 for the City of Tacoma Portable Works permanent collection for the 2006 work Beneath the Surface.

Washington State Art Commission – We received a mural commission for the Lucille Umbarger Elementary School in Burlington, Washington which was completed Summer 2006. The 60 square foot mural artwork is titled The Skagit and represents the abundance of wildlife, natural and community resources in and around the Skagit River.
