Artist statement
Eun young yun
When I was a little, I felt some inspiration from old masterpiece paintings such as Rembrandt.
Since then, I dreamed to be a great figurative artist like them. So, I studied Fine Arts at Kyuong Song University in Korea specialized in oil painting and watercolor. I paint in oils, mainly because I like the richness and depth of color that can be achieved in this medium.. I want to tell story about people. What they doing in this season or on this moment? I want to describe beautifully about that. In order to go to first step, I have focused on figure painting in tradition. Mostly I paint from live models. I have tried to capture them in my paintings through the considered natural flash skin color tone, value, and correct drawing form as well as constantly fresh challenges and demands adds to my interest in and excitement about painting. There are also two elements that interest in me most is light and color. I am constantly fascinated by the way that a certain quality of light radically alters the character and impact of a subject and makes it something unique. I think it is important to consider how much it looks natural and comfortable.
I constantly strive to reach the highest artistic plateaus to best active my goal.
