Vahid is an Iranian born artist, living in the Netherlands. An architect by trade, Vahid uses charcoal and pastels to create paintings that often feel as three dimensional narratives, where a particular spatial composition becomes a window into an intense personal feeling.
Many of his artworks have a double quality - a landscape or a portrait is only the first layer of the story, revealing a new, surprising narrative upon a closer look. This fluid and multilayered storytelling invites different observers to juxtapose their own feelings onto the artwork.
Nature, sometimes other-worldly and eerie, is another omnipresent theme in Vahids work. As an avid cycler, Vahid often retreats into nature to daydream and re-energize, and these introspective moments later find another life in his paintings.
