My name is Veronica Huacuja o̅o̅-ä-co̅o̅-ha. I am a painter that was born 1958 and lives in Mexico City.
The man and its precarious condition temporality, decay, illness, pain... is the central topic of my work.
Some initial sources that I use are radiological medical studies done to sick, genderless, anonymous persons. I like to call the results of my work as “Human Landscapes”. By this “category” I mean to explore–with no concessions–the carnal, temporal material that we humans are made from.
Therefore, in my work, art, science, and technology converge.
My artistic influences are Mexican, American and European painters. My work has a strong influence on Francis Bacon’s oeuvre.
The pictorial currents of my work are figurative and abstract.
The mediums and techniques of my choice are oil, acrylic on canvas andor paper....
