Artist Statement

Hi, my name is JOSEPH DE PIAZZA, born and raised in the United States. When I was a kid, growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I hated abstract art because I couldn't understand it. What made things worse, was being told “I wasn't sophisticated enough to understand it,” and probably never would be, “Now Go Away Kid!” So I went away to the country and ended up looking for the least sophisticated pieces of country driftwood I could find to work with, and to my surprise and disbeliefs, I found Mother Nature’s abstracts. I was so happy and pleased, now I could stop trying to be sophisticated and still be able to create abstract art. Which of course, I secretly loved and the Quantum Collection was born.

The name of the collection is a tribute to the fundamental theory of quantum physics, which is responsible for the product technology that enables us to produce fine, abstract art, with beauty and integrity, from country driftwood. Technology has now advanced to such a degree, that a piece of art can be preserved indefinitely, with little periodic upkeep over decades of time.

The real quantum collection is a theoretical concept of the best natural wood abstracts collected over time. My role model collection is an example set in place to inspire the field.

The arts in general, are absolutely necessary; they are social safety valves for a rapidly evolving conscience. Some art provides tranquility to balance the hectic interactions people must be involved with in everyday life. These pieces created from natural country driftwood, have been unquestionably proven to be natural conduits to tranquility. Samples of the best nature and man interacting together have to offer, timeless, ever-changing, abstract, painted wood sculpts, with possessive power and longevity.

Due to the fact that I am perhaps the only person that successfully mastered these abstracts of nature, means there isn't many people, if any? In this rare, pioneering, yet depleting field. Therefore showings and teachings are mandatory and sales are exclusive and limited.

Thank you and I'm sure you agree with this statement, our wild natural resources are depleting and we should preserve some of nature’s natural abstracts. I can't imagine a future without them.

Sincerely yours,

Joseph DiPiazza...
