Title is THE BARBICON AT MONT SAINT MICHEL. The zinc plate for this etching measured seven-inches high by five-inches wide or 17.780cm by 12.700cm, which is consequently the image’s size. The paper was hand torn to a size of twelve inches high by ten inches wide or 30.480cm x 25.400cm. This is the best print of Five in this EDITION, edition ONE OF FOUR. The artist hand-printed this work at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The STUDIO TECHNIQUES EMPLOYED included Aquatint, Intaglio, and Drypoint. A blend of three oil based etching inks were used and printing was done on Rives BFK white paper, also French. The etching was inspired by an 1865 albumen print from the A. D. White Architectural Photographs Collection at Cornell University Library.
