Media include oil based, French ink on RivesBFK white paper with Thai mulberry bark color overlay. Print size is 12 inches wide by 15 inches high, or 30cm x 38cm. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. This is the first print in my series dedicated to life in contemporary China, entitled WALL FLOWERS. It is based on a photograph taken in Beijing by a friend in 2011 and is entitled, DUCK DUCK GOOSE, A WINDOW IN BEIJING. The actual image size is 10 inches wide by 8 inches high.
This work incorporates the etching technique of INTAGLIO with Chine colle, which is the process of adding color to an etching by merging treated, cut out mulberry bark paper to the inked plate. The mulberry bark paper from Thailand, Unryu Brand, was treated with methyl cellulose.
