This etching is based on a photograph I shot in 1987 at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. It is a violet and turquoise rendition of the etching from the first edition of a different title. The techniques employed include intaglio, drypoint and aquatint. I printed the work on two zinc plates. An oil based etching ink blend, Charbonnel brand from France, was used with RivesBFK white paper. This is the first Edition, which is limited to NINE prints. Two ETCHED zinc plates was used to print on one piece of paper. Each plate measures 7 inches high by 5 inches wide, with a small vertical separation space between the plates. The print measures 11 inches high by 15 inches wide. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
