PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK INCLUDES A BLACK WOOD FRAME AND WHITE ARCHIVAL MAT. The frame measures 11 inches high by 14 inches wide. This etching, from the 4th of 4 Editions, employs two zinc plates to create one printed image. I incorporated the studio techniques of Aquatint, intaglio, Chine colle, and drypoint, and the plates required four separate Nitric acid baths. Each edition will be limited to only five etchings. Moreover, each of the four editions are executed in different color combinations of paper and ink. I blended two colors of oil base ink, Charbonnel brand from Paris, and printed on Arches Cove cream colored paper. Each etching plate measures 4 inches wide by 6 inches high, or 10.160cm by 15.240cm. The image size is 6 inches high by 8 inches wide, or 15.240cm by 20.320cm. The unframed etching is 15 inches wide by 11 inches high, or 38.100cm by 27.940cm. I treated an orange colored mulberry bark paper from Thailand with my own blend of methyl cellulose to use in the Chine colle process. The works were hand printed and published at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA within The Open Studio In Printmaking at 705 Christian Street. The narrative features a scene from New Orleans. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The frame is first wrapped in acid free glassine and then placed between two pieces of cardboard. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, packing supplies, frame, mat, Certificate of Authenticity, and the shipment carton. Mailing costs are extra.
