TITLE of this work is The Window at Chartres North Transept in Creamsicle. Chartres Cathedral holds many secrets in its architectural details. This window alone, without even considering the colors or imagery, has a mystical design made up of circles, squares, arches,and four-leaf clovers. This work was executed as a meditative toola sort of mandala in orange and white, if you will to help the viewer understand the Sacred Feminine within all Life. My print was inspired by a photo taken around 1890 more info to follow. THIS INTAGLIO ETCHING WAS EXECUTED ON A ZINC PLATE 9 INCHES HIGH BY 6 INCHES WIDE or 22.860cm x 15.240cm. I used Charbonnel brand, oil-based ink and printed on STONEHENGE black paper ink made in Francepaper in UK. I hand printed the works myself at The Center for Works on Paper, Fleisher Art Memorial Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Open Printmaking Studio. This is the FIRST EDITION of FOUR each edition is limited to only six prints per editions. Print measures 11.2 inches by 15 inches 28 cm x 38.100 cm. The work is meant to serve as a meditation tool, in that the viewer can experience slight optical visions while studying it for a long period. It exploits the SACRED GEOMETRY found in Chartres Cathedrals mystic secrets. Please note that this etching is shipped to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap.
