Artwork Description:

This etching was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note it ships to the collector with both a frame and archival mat. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. This print incorporated the studio techniques of intaglio and Chine colle. The later adds color to the work by applying treated mulberry bark paper from Thailand during the printing process. I used oil base, Charbonnel ink on RivesBFK white paper. I based my initial etching drawings on a photograph from The US Library of Congress in Washington, DC, Highsmith Archive. The scene shows a sculpted nude angel outside The Havana Capitol, built April 1, 1926 to 1929. After the 1959 Revolution, the Capitol became the headquarters of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and then the Ministry of Science, Technology, and the Environment. The image size, or zinc plate size, is 9 inches high by 6 inches wide, or 22.5 cm x 15 cm. The print size is 15 inches high by11.25 inches wide, 31.8 cm x 37.5 cm. This is from the THIRD EDITION of THREE, and this final edition is limited to only five prints. This zinc plate was etched in several baths of Nitric acid. Note that Print Number 5 of 5 in this edition has already sold, which leaves only four remaining prints that are available.
