Artwork Description:
This etching represents the serpent as a primordial Gnostic symbol of salvation and Light. The work, inspired by the German novel by Meyrink, THE GREEN FACE, written in 1917, is executed in a mix of oil based inks to produce my own violet. The work is hand printed on RIVES BFK white paper in only ONE very limited edition of thirty-five prints. As previously stated, the image is etched on a zinc plates measuring 5 inches wide by 7inches high. The print measures 12 inches x 10. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap.
