ATLANTIC AVENUE LOOKING EAST IN ROSE AND VIOLET TONES, CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY, 1965. This multiple-plate etching was derived from a 1962 photograph taken by my mother in Camden, New Jersey. It shows the neighborhood where I spent my childhood. The techniques of intaglio and drypoint were employed, and this second edition print is executed using a created blend of three colors of oil based ink, Charbonnel Brand, France. I printed on cream colored FABRIANO paper from Italy. The image is etched on three individual zinc plates that each measure 3 inches wide, 7.6 cm, by 4 inches high, 10 cm. A small space separates each plate, and the print size is 15 inches long x 11 inches high , or 37.5 cm by 27.5 cm. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
