Artwork Description:
This work was inspired by an archival print in the U. S. Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division, Washington, D. C, Collection PHOTOCHROME PRINTS, Detroit Publishing Co., Catalogue J, Foreign Section. I employed the printmaking techniques of INTAGLIO, AQUATINT, CHINE COLLE, and DRYPOINT to create this limited THIRD edition of the print. My media included oil-based, etching inks, RivesBFK white paper, methyl cellulose and mulberry-bark paper from Thailand threaded with gold metallic threads. Please note that this etching is shipped to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector a range of choice in framing. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. Handling, packing materials, strong packing tape, and shipment carton are included in the price. However the price does not include shipment costs.
