Artwork Description:

THE FULL TITLE IS CARMELA TANDO’S GRADUATION FROM OUR LADY OF LITTLE ITALY. This round painting was executed with acrylics on a primed and wood stretched canvas that measures 20 inches in diameter. It was a part of Di Falco’s PHILADELPHIA ITALIAN MARKET SERIES and painted in his “cartoonistic” style, developed in 1981 when he worked in New York City’s Lower East Side. Occasionally he continues to work in this “street-smart” style, which once earned him the title of, “the Wildman of Political Art” by the late Philadelphia Inqurier art critic, Edward J. Sozansky. The work has painted edges, which means that no frame is necessary. It ships in a sturdy cardboard carton wrapped in acid free glassine and packed in bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Price includes all handling fees and wrapping materials. Shipment Costs are added. A late art collector in San Francisco previously owned the work and willed it back to the artist in 2018. Other works from the Italian Market Series are currently in private collections in Los Angeles, Honolulu, Memphis, New York City, Quebec, Havana, and Miami. The artist has one small work on an oval canvas from this series that will soon be on the market.
