Artwork Description:

Title is Chartres Street in Peacock Dreams. This intaglio and aquatint etching by Gerard Jerry Di Falco is entitled, Chartres Street in Peacock Dreams. Moreover, it is adapted from a photograph by Howard Coleman, who was born in 1883 and died in 1969. Coleman entitled his photo, Chartres Street from the Lower Pontalba Building, Gallery to Victors Café, corner of Toulouse Street. The photo is from the collection of the Tulane University Library, Thelma Hecht Coleman Memorial Collection. A DIFALCO etching trademark, in addition to his obsessive attention to detail, involves the way he blends artistic genres to produce a painterly print. His ink wiping technique uses several different tools, and consequently, a DIFALCO etching takes on the appearance of a monoprint. The zinc plate for this etching measured eight inches wide by six inches high, which is also the image size of 20.320cm by 15.240cm. The framed print measures 11 inches by 15 inches. Media include French, oil-based inks printed on STONEHENGE gray colored paper. It was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is part of The Fleisher Art Campus. This print is from the SECOND EDITION, which as all four editions in this series, is limited to only FIVE numbered works. THE PRICE INCLUDES CARDBOARD SHIPMENT CARTON. HANDLING COSTS, BUBBLE WRAP, ARCHIVAL MATT AND A WOOD AND GLASS FRAME, WHICH IS PAINTED GOLD. FRAME COLOR IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN EITHER BLACK, SILVER, OR NATURAL WOOD.
