Artwork Description:

Please note that this etching is shipped and sold to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. The price includes packaging and handling. Shipment costs are NOT included in the Absolute Arts Dot Com price. This etching is based on a photo taken in Salem, Massachusetts in 1987 of the Grave Stone of Timothy Lindell, dated 1688. on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was done on two zinc plates, each one measuring 8 inches high by 6 inches wide, or 20.320 cm x 15.240 cm, that were placed on the printing press bed one atop the other in a vertical manner, with a slight separation space between them. The print measures about 20 high by 11 inches wide. This etching was done using intaglio and aquatint. It shows Father Time as the Angel of Death, and refers to the Scottish thin place, called Iona. A thin place is an area on earth where the Veil between the Worlds of the Living and the Dead are at their thinnest. . . a very sacred and metaphysical place where reality and surrealistic reality combine to provide a portal between sky and sea for the mind to enter The Spirit Realms. Executed in French, oil-based ink. my own blend of emerald green, turquoise, and metallic gold, and printed on RivesBFK cream etching paper, also from France. I printed this edition of etchings at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
