Artwork Description:

This image, inspired by a Durer etching, shows a witch riding a goat in reverse. I drew four studies of the Durer work to prepare for my original etching on zinc plate. My technique included intaglio. This is the FIRST of Three Editions, and each edition is limited to only 10 prints. My print on RivesBFK white paper measures approximately 15 wide by 16 inches high. I also used black oil based ink. Key search words include Witch, Strega, Durer, Angels, Goat, Witchcraft, Magic, Demonic, Angelic, sacred, and profane. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. This first edition is slightly lower in price from the second, because no Chine colle method was employed to create colored areas with mulberry bark papers.
