The work is wired and ready to hang. Framing includes a brown craft paper backing. A wall hook and nail are included. I based the 1920 s street scene on my original drawings, which were inspired by an image from the New York City Public Library s digital collection. The New Orleans cityscape features SAULS corner grocery store in the French Quarter. Moreover, my visual elements in this work include an optical play of light and shadow balanced by a unique color scheme. My media included a blend of French, oil base etching inks printed on RivesBFK white paper. I achieved the effect of the yellow sky with the Chine colle technique, a process that attaches a hand cut and stenciled mulberry bark paper from Thailand to the etching plate during the printing. This hand dyed paper is infused with Japanese kozo threads and hand treated with methyl cellulose. This is a printNumber Onefrom the SECOND Edition of Four Editions. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvaniacourtesy of The Fleisher Art Campus and The Open Studio in Printmaking .
