I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. This print focuses on Christianity, the Middle Ages in Europe, and religious intolerance. The actual image was inspired by an etching by an unknown artist. In spite of the narrative content, I consider my etchings to be an abstract play of line and form. . . between geometric illusion and geometric conclusion. The optical flow I create within the boundaries of my planes are like dreams we can never quite remember. . . or memories we can never quite forget. In this specific etching I examine how the sadist and the masochist play out the roles of the priest and the follower. . . between those who believe in ghosts and those who believe in training via pain. History repeats itself only if we ingest its rancid food for thought. My etching techniques include intaglio and Chine colle. Image size is ten inches high by eight inches wide. Prints 15 inches by 12 inches.
