Artwork Description:
The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. This etching is from my d MYSTERIOUS PLACES AND SACRED SPACES series. The techniques employed include intaglio and aquatint. This work is presented in three limited editions of only ten prints each. This edition is executed in black oil based Charbonnel Ink from Paris, France on RivesBFK Gray Paper. Print size measures 15 inches high by 11 inches wide, or 38 cm x 28 cm. The image was inspired by 1908, black and white photograph from the US Library of Congress, Washington, DC. It shows the Statue of Liberty while under construction. Three original drawings of the photo were done in preparation for this etching.
