Artwork Description:
The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. This print is from a series of etchings inspired by the novels of Anne Rice. The techniques in this work include intaglio, aquatint, and drypoint. My aquatint technique did not employ pulverized resin or spay paint. Instead, various grades of sandpaper applications, directly to the plate that was coated in soft ground, accomplished this. Four limited editions of ten prints each are planned for this work of fine art. The 1st and 2nd editions are completed, and I intend to execute the 3rd and 4th editions later, probably in 2018. The image size, and also the size of the zinc etching plate, is 10 inches wide by 8 inches high. The print is 12 inches high by fifteen inches wide, or 30cm x 38cm. The suggested frame size by the artist is 16 inches by 20 inches or larger. Also the artist insists that only museum quality mat board be used in the framing. The image is adapted from a 2009 photograph taken by a friend. I completed three original drawings before working on the zinc plate for this scene. A collector from Paris purchased all of the drawings in 2012. Media included metallic, oil based ink from Paris on STONEHENGE black paper that was manufactured in the UK.
