Artwork Description:
This etching entitled, Ghost and Sculpture of Mary Magdalene, Facade, Notre Dame de la Dalbade, Toulouse, used the techniques of aquatint, intaglio, and, chine colle, which is a process of applying a cellulose coated mulberry bark paper directly onto the printing plate before running it through the press. The work is from an edition of forty prints, each one executed in oil base etching ink and printed on STONEHENGE brand black paper. Image size is 6 inches wide by 9 inches high. The etching is 15 inches by eleven inches. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards.
