Artwork Description:

NOTE The 3rd of 10 in this edition print pictured here sold. Other nearly identical prints are available to view upon request. This etching employs the techniques of INTAGLIO, AQUATINT, DRYPOINT, and CHINE COLLE. The scene is taken from an albumen print created between 1865 and 1895 of the French island of Mont Saint Michele, east view of islet. This photo is from the HD White Architectural Photographs Collection, Cornell University. Media include oil based, French ink on RivesBFK white paper. Mulberry bark paper was used in the CHINE COLLE process. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. A hard ground was used on my zinc plate, and I employed five separate acid baths before being satisfied with my final image.
