Artwork Description:
I photographed this Paris scene in 1987 at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery. This etching is from the first edition of ten, which uses an oil base metallic ink blend, Charbonnel brand, on Stonehenge Black printmaking paper from the UK. The color overlays in the chine colle process are from Thai mulberry bark paper treated with methylcellulose. My studio techniques also include intaglio, mezzotint, and aquatint. The image size measures 9 inches high by 12 inches wide, or approximately 23cm by 30.5cm. The print is around 15 inches by 18 inches, or 38cm x 45.5cm. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and affords a wide selection of choice for the collector with regard to matting and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, Certificate of Authenticity, and the shipment carton. Mailing and transportation costs are added to the price.
