Artwork Description:
THE FULL TITLE IS, Salon of the Knights at Mont St Michel in France. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. This work, from my MYSTERIOUS PLACES SERIES, was adapted from a photograph in The US Library of Congress, Washington, D. C., from the Photochrom Prints Collection. This photo was taken between 1890 and 1900. I drew five studies in graphite stick on paper to prepare for this First Edition Etching, which used the techniques of intaglio and aquatint with both hard and soft wax grounds on a zinc plate. Size is 15 inches by 11.25 inches, or 38cm x 28.2cm. This first edition used a blend of French inks on RivesBFK white paper. Please note that the second and third editions will not be printed until certain Full Moons in the Autumn of 2018. This has to do with the astro physical aspects of The Knights Templar and their relationship to the Secrets of Mary Magdalene. Edition Two must use the Chine colle technique, whereas Edition Three will be printed on black paper with a blend of black inks. The Last Two editions will cost more that the First for metaphysical reasons. If a collector buys all three at once, she or he will receive a bonus etching related to The Black Madonna.
