Artwork Description:

This etching was inspired by an antique albumen print done between 1865 and 1886. I executed several drawings of this photo, which I found during my research into The A. D. White Architectural Photograph Collection, Cornell University, Rare Print and Manuscript Collections in their library. The university accession Number is 1553090.01427. I hand transferred my drawing onto a zinc plate via a squared scale method. Seven separate acid baths were required in conjunction with the studio techniques of INTAGLIO, AQUATINT, and DRY POINT. My blend of metallic, oil based etching inks from Paris gives the work a depth befitting its design. I printed on STONEHENGE black paper for this SECOND Edition, limited to only five etchings. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box.
