PRICE INCLUDES MAT JOB AND FRAMING. FRAME SIZE IS 22 BY 12. This etching employs six individual zinc plates aligned on the printing press in a horizontal design. It takes its inspiration from the 1957 Ingmar Bergmans film, THE SEVENTH SEAL, Det sjunde inseglet. This classic film follows the story of a Swedish medieval knight during the time of The Black Death one of its major themes involves the knight and his inability to understand the silence of God. The film title refers to a biblical passage from REVELAVTION, And when the Lamb had opened the Seventh Seal, there was silence in heaven about half an hour 81. My mixed technique etching incorporates the methods of intaglio, drypoint, and aquatint. The work is executed in a mix of oil based inks on STONEHENGE BLACK paper. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
